This is another of my all time favorites. Can't you just imagine Botticelli's Venus arriving on the beach on her scallop shell with one of these behind her ear holding her hair back?

The long spines are very fragile (and pretty sharp, too!). Most deeper water shells are collected either by dredge or nets - Can you imagine how hard it must be to collect one without damaging the spines?
